SMK – The National Gallery of Denmark – is Denmark’s national gallery and the country’s leading museum of art.
At SMK, you’ll find Denmark’s largest collection of art, comprising more than 200,000 works. The collection originally belonged to the Danish kings, but with the introduction of democracy in Denmark in the mid-1800s, the royal art collection was gifted to the people. That gift became SMK.
